Tasting Review Panel Guidelines

Cigar Live is proud to have a great working relationship with many manufacturers. We have been asked to review various cigars and cigar related items and provide feedback to them. In hopes to be able to provide the type of feedback that is helpful and timely, we have devised some guidelines that will be installed in order to maintain consistency and informative feedback to manufacturers as well as others in this forum. Below are three categories; Eligibility, Commitment, Process.

Eligibility:

1. Must have no less than 500 posts and have been on the board no less than 5 months to participate.
2. Must have done at least three reviews using the ICRS review system submitted on the Cigar Live Forum review area. (No Links to off site reviews accepted) Described HERE and listed HERE.
3. Must commit to a full and informative review of each cigar being considered. All reviews must be in the ICRS format and submitted on the Cigar Live Forum review area. (No Links to off site reviews accepted)
4. Must have ZERO infractions.
5. Must have bombed at least two people prior to signing on current panel.
6. Must have no negative iTrader hits.
7. Must have a complete profile with address and email on it.
8. Eligibility may be revoked by admin for cause.
9. Anyone will be grandfathered in if they have successfully completed a panel in the past. Timely and completly.

Commitments:

1. Must commit to a timely review submittal no more than 45 days from receipt of cigars.
2. May not participate in additional review panels until full completion of current panel is done.
3. May not participate in more than one panel at a time.
6. Member is obligated to explain in writing any variance to above guidelines and may not be allowed to participate in further panels.

Process:

1. Each panel will have 9 participants receiving 10 cigars each.
2. All bands will be removed and replaced with numbers. This is done to prevent bias in the review process.
3. Each panelist will receive two of each cigar and five different types for a total of 10 cigars. You will get the chance to try a cigar twice for accurate flavors and reviews.
4. Although you receive 10 cigars, your commitment is for 5 reviews, unless your experience is different from both cigars. Please use the ICRS review system explained above for the review process.
5. Enjoy the smokes and let us know what you think. we report back to the manufacturer our findings and allow them some valid, unbiased feedback.
6. The Cigars will be revealed once all reviews are in.

Please note that any additional specific panel guidelines will be at the opening of the panel thread. Under no circumstances will any variance be permitted without prior approval from Panel Supervisor in writing (Email, PM). All guidelines are subject to change.

We are certain that Manufacturers will find that Cigar Live is a great place to get honest opinions about their products. We hope to provide that feedback to them so any improvements that need to be made and/or praises accepted can be done timely and efficiently.

LOL, i'm with you here..minus the wife thing (i'm in college)...but i need to spend less time in class and more time on here!!
