Price Reduction on LIVE Cigars - 07-31-2008

Creating the LIVE by George Rico cigar has been a ton of fun for the CigarLive.com community. The cigar was created as a means for us as a community to see a cigar go from concept to your door. There have been some bumps along the way because of my decision to make the cigar in a shape you have to cut on both ends. This vitola/shape has caused some mislabeling to happen and some cigars are actually banded in error. I should have done the norm and had the cigar cut on one end like most other cigars out there. I just had to be different.

How does this effect you? Well in recent talks with the manufacturer it seems that it is just not feasible to go back and cut and reband this batch of cigars. There is an upside though. They have agreed to a price break on the remaining cigars in this batch only, which will be directly passed on to the end consumer, the members of CigarLive.com

The second thing that has caused some problems for me personally is that I simply can not handle orders trickling in each day. There is simply not enough time in the day for me as a single person to process the orders and get them to the distributor each day. My focus is on CigarLive.com. I do not want to be the bottleneck in getting the cigars distributed. For this reason I have decided to hold a two day sale on the cigars.

We will hold a two day sale a few weeks from now to sell the cigars at the lower price. This allows me to focus on my day job without having to deal with orders. I can submit all the orders from those two days to be processed. I did not realize how much of a task selling the cigars can be and I applaud all the cigar retailers for having the skill to do it. This small batch of cigars has taught me a lot and I have even more respect than ever for people that do it day in and out.

Cigars will go on sale for $122 per box on August 15, 2008 and August 16, 2008.

Question: Do you ship to P.O. Boxes?
Answer: No

Question: Do you ship International?
Answer: No

I can understand how this project has become more demanding than anticipated and why you have decided to proceed in this manner but, what about those of us who paid a higher price for our smokes? No offense but, it seems a bit unfair.

Cigars go on sale all the time, It's a common business practice. I don't think we should think of this as any other business. IMHO
If you have ever won an auction on cbid only to have the next auction for that cigar sell for less, its just business.....

True but if I am getting a break on them I want to pass on the savings. I want to get through this batch and make a corona with a better price point of the same blends. Got to get these sold first though. A simple shape.

A corona? Now you're talking!

Thanks Daniel. That's a cut above. Really appreciate that it's not just business for you. I really felt a bit of participation in this. I guess that's a bit old fashioned, like getting all emotional about your favorite team but hey, there's still a few of us old fashioned guys around.

Thanks again.

Im pretty old fashion too. Base model ford pickup, sneakers, and blue jeans here. Wife rattles the pots and pans and I go to work everyday. She supports me in everything I do and I am not affraid to make mistakes. You can not make mistakes if you are not doing anything. I do alot so I make alot of mistakes along the way. Just have to deal with them and learn from it. haha!
