Well, I have one pic of a decent ash from a Short Story I smoked last year before I got the Stinky and before I lost (gave away) the Zikar in favor of my trusted Palio, LOL. Anyway, the quality on the pic is not good - used my cell phone. In any case, here is one to start with.

I had a decent one going yesterday evening, but I couldn't get to my camera before the wind blew it off. Maybe next time.

Going for the longest ash is great fun, in a contest or for a photo op, but it can cause slight changes in the way the cigar tastes. I reserve my ash fetish to Rolys, need-to-smoke dog rockets, and contests where I might actually win something.

Of course, the integrity of the ash has a lot to say about the construction of the cigar as well as the fact that the smoker does not have Parkinson's!

This one evolved last month at Lord's Tobacco in New Wilmington, PA.

This gifted Partagas ended with all of its ash intact. As it turned into an accidental longest ash deal, I couldn't get the bands off and ended up smoking this through the length of the first band before it simply went out. It even allowed me to lay it down intact.
