Description: Cigar Tasting Book

Cigar Company: Avalon Cigars Cigar Name: Juke Series Ebony
Cigar Size: Ring Gage: 50 Cigar Length: 7” Cigar Color: Conneticut shade
Cigar Price: Free babe’
Cigar Band Label:

Cigar Make-Up: Stregnth: Mild Wrapper: Connecticut Binder: Ecuadorian
Filler: Nicaraguan Cuban Seed.& Santiago Domingo Origin: Miami’s famed Calle Ocho District
Date: 05/30/2007 Time: Place: Cascade cigar & tobacco, Oregon Weather: Sunny
Cigar Smell: Wrapper:Little hint of vavilla, cedar or wood, and spices Foot: The foot
reaviles and greater essence of spices in my nose.
Cigar Texture: Feel: The cigar has a firm construction from head to foot. The wrapper is smooth
with little veins and just a slight amount of oils on the wrapper

Cigar Taste on the Tongue: I can almost taste a hint of pecan wood on my tongue, or it’s a
wood-nut combination. Very Nice, High Five.

Cigar Pre-draw Flavor: The pre-draw taste of the cigar is more of the Pecan wood essence
with a slight hint of fruit or brown sugar on the tip of the tongue.

Cigar First Taste: After toasting the foot the cigar has a taste of that Pecan wood cedar taste
on the palette. There’s also that hint of floral brown sugar on the tip of my tongue. That Pecan wood spirit taste like when you’re cracking pecan shells with your teeth as a kid.

Cigar Ash Color: 1st Medium Salt & Pepper 2nd Medium Salt & Pepper 3rd Same as 1 & 2.

Cigar Middle Taste: The pecan-wood cedar taste is seeming to dissipate There is now a hint
of pepper essence when I allow the smoke to just slow rise out of my
mouth.

Cigar Smoke Smell: The smell of the smoke of the cigar is much like that of the taste on my
palette. When I breathe the cigar smoke through my nose I get a hint of pepper.

Cigar Middle Taste: The feeling I get from this cigar is nice and relaxing day of fishing with my
family down home in Texas. This is a nice and pleasant cigar. It puts a smile
on my face.

Cigar End Taste: Although the cigar is starting to bite back a bit, on the lips and tongue. It
seems that the Juke Series Ebony cigar would mellow out after about 3-6 months in a humidor. The taste is still a pepper, spice essence with the Pecan-wood cedar fading off.

Cigar Heat and Draw: The heat from the cigar is minimal. The cigar burns even, slow and the
draw is a nice medium firm pull.

Cigar Finish: The finish on the tongue, from the Avalon Juke Series Ebony cigar, is much like
that of the taste on the palette. The effects don’t linger for to long though. The
cigar has a nice medium body to the cigar

Cigar Final Comments: My final judgment on the Avalon Juke Series Ebony cigar is a very good
to excellent cigar. One might just pass by the cigars, if they read about
the process of how Avalon cures and flavors their cigars. That person would be greatly wrong for doing so. I say this because I would have been on of those people. The thoughts of how dare you think out side the box and maybe create a new and exciting experience for us cigar smokers. Avalon I applaud you and your Juke Series Ebony cigar. It was truly an outstanding smoking experience. I wouldn’t hesitate passing on of these cigars to a new or old smoker. If some of you are wanting a number system from 1.0 – 10.0 I would rate the Avalon Juke Series Ebony cigar with a 8.5-8.9. The cigar just left me with a happy and mind altering experience.

Pros: interesting flavors, great construction
Cons: a bit too mild

Avalon Juke Series Ebony
7x50, Churchill

ATMOSPHERE: Smoked on a nice sunny morning on my patio with a glass of iced tea and Stogie Fresh on my iPod.

PRE-SMOKE:
Scent: Very mild sweet and woody smell. Barnyard and earth aroma from foot once cut (see below).

Appearance: Somewhat veiny light caramel wrapper typical of a Connecticut. Wrapper was rolled over foot. I decided to cut this but I am sure you could just light it as is.

Feel: somewhat spongy to the squeeze but not too bad.

Pre-light draw: Nothing on the tongue. Tiny bit of earth from draw but not too much flavor.

SMOKE:
Taste & Flavor: Very mild flavors overall. Hints of light fruit (berry), hay, and basic tobacco in the first half. Got some of the smoked meat I got from the Honeyboy and earth in the 2nd half. Exhaling through the nose brought out a little bit more of the berry. These were nice flavors but I kept wishing they were a bit more prominent.

Strength: Definitely mild throughout.

Feeling: A little bit soft to chewing but not too bad.

Scent of smoke: Very nice vanilla, roasted nuts scent.

Heat: None.

Draw & Burn: Very good draw and even burn. Average amount of smoke.

Finish: Very short but pleasant finish, creamy and nutty.

OTHER:
Ash: Black/grey speckled ash that held very well.

Duration: Smoked until just under 2” left due to time constraints.

CONCLUSION: A good mild cigar with some flavor complexity but not quite strong enough for my tastes. If I had to compare it to other cigars I would put it somewhere between a 5 Vegas Gold and the regular Ashton line. A very well constructed cigar. I would not buy this cigar myself because it doesn’t fit my flavor profile but I would recommend it to a newer smoker or those that appreciate milder cigars.

FINAL RATING: 7/10

Cheers!

Rob

Pros: great construction, interesting flavor
Cons: none

Mine was the same cigar but in a Toro size.

I would agree with everything in the above review except that I did not get any berry flavors.
