Taste: Musty, “grass” flavor at beginning, nuttiness comes through about 1/3 in. Later hints of bitter coffee and vanilla.
Flavor Changes: around 1/3 and ˝ point
Strength: Medium to medium-full
Scent of Smoke: Woody
Heat on Fingers and in Mouth:
Draw: Smooth w/slight resistance
Finish: Long finish that coats the mouth.
Other Aspects of the Cigar Smoking Experience: Perfect burn.
This cigar was box-pressed to the point that it was almost perfectly square, which probably contributed to the wrinkled, rustic look of the wrapper. Upon lighting it, I was immediately hit with a musty, herbal flavor that made me wonder exactly what sort of filler had been used. This “grass”-like flavor quickly gave way to a pleasant nuttiness and calmed my fears of having to submit to “random testing” anytime in the near future. Just past the midway point I began to pick up on flavors of bitter coffee with a slight vanilla overtone. The smoke was creamy throughout and the long finish coated my palate with the nutty flavor that was present for the entire smoke. Burn was perfect and the cigar never got hot. Not the prettiest or most spectacular cigar ever, but one that is quite tasty and delivers on consistency.

This was a nice natural wrapper (Cameroon?) box pressed cigar. Thw wrapper looked a little rought and I noticed large veins on the wrapper leaf. The cigars wrapper and foot had a nice light tobacco smell.
The cap cut off nicely and producted a nice draw.
First Third: The cigar started out mild. It has a light sweet taste and is very pleasant. It has an awesome draw.
Second Third: The cigar is still mild but the flavor is getting stronger. The sweet taste is gone but very pleasant and relaxing.
Third Third: Still mild and getting stonger. The smoke is tingling my mouth as well as getting bitter. This might be the veiny bits of the leaf.
Overall this was a wonderful cigar. I tend to not like a mild smoke, but this one was wonderful. I plan on buying these cigars. This is also a great cigar for a starting smoker.

Blind review. Big old Box Press Churchill
ATMOSPHERE: Smoked outside in the evening paired with fresh Alabama air.
PRE-SMOKE:
Scent: Smelled a hint of leather.
Appearance: It was pressed so hard it had wrinkles.
Feel: Long and strong. I love box pressed smokes!
Pre-light draw: Mostly leather taste, but even that was very, very light. Not much on the palate.
SMOKE:
Taste & Flavor: Light leather flavor. Light smoke from the cigar, but that is probably my fault. When I smoke a Churchill I don't usually inhale hard enough to get a mouthful. You could say I suck at sucking!
Strength: Very mild. No harsh taste whatsoever, and I mean none!
Feeling: Very good.
Scent of smoke: Leather, yeah definitely leather.
Heat: Very little.
Draw & Burn: Solid throughout, one relight, but that was my fault completely. I forgot about my little buddy when I did a feel things outside.
Finish: Same as it started.
OTHER:
Ash: Nice ash. Nothing to write home about, not as solid as most cigars.
Duration: Smoked until about 1.5” remaining in roughly 1 hour 20 minutes.
CONCLUSION: A good leathery Churchill. Nice bos press. I would love to see with with more flavor or a better body.
FINAL RATING: 6.0 - Too mild for me

Upon lighting this cigar, the end swelled and cracked. I tried to cut it down but the damage made it impossible to smoke. All I can say is the pre-light draw was smooth and the flavors seemed nice. Construction was a bit questionable!

Let me start off by saying this is one well box pressed stick, very very square. I believe it was about 7 X 46. I took this one out of the humidor, removed the cello and gave the wrapper a whiff. I picked up a little cocoa and some spice with a hint of sweetness. At the foot I picked up some hay and more spice. The appearance of this stick was ok, I mean nothing spectacular. Very, very square box press like I mentioned before. It had alot of large veins and maybe even some stems on the wrapper, it also had a double cap on this stick. There were a few soft spots and it was overall firm. It also had a little oilyness to the wrapper. I cut this one with my double bladed Xikar and gave it a little pre-light draw. It seemed there were alot of stems poking out on my tongue as I pressed it against the fresh cut. I could pick up some basement musty flavors with some spice. It made my lips tingle for a minute or two as I took a few prelight draws.
I toasted the foot and lit this square peg up. I got lots of peppery goodness along with some cocoa for the first inch with it having almost a full flavor profile. After about an inch the strength mellowed down to meduim and I could taste some leather and possibly a little buttery flavors, along with the same spice. After another inch this sticks flavors fell flat on its face. It became very mellow with nothing to make me want to stay and see what happens later. I did smoke it to about 1 1/2 inch but it did not get better. I did get some heat through the stick onto my fingers throughout the stick. This baby was a very well burning stick along with having a very nice ash that stuck to it for a good 2 inches. The draw was also perfect, there was just a little resistance. The finish in the mouth left a nice toasty tobacco flavor with nothing that could be picked up really. There was one stem/vien on the wrapper which would curl outwards as it burned which I had never seen before. If I had to rate this on the ICRS scale I would give it a 5 for construction and a 6 for flavor and burn. I give it a 5.5 ovrall.

Taste: started out witha weird flavor as if I was msoking a beef jerky. Now I like beef jerky, but not in my cigars. After 1/3 that flaor was gone and a more appropriate, woody, leathery, spicy profile appeared
Flavor Changes: at 1/3 ofthe stick the profile chjanged to a more pleasant one
Strength: medium
Scent of Smoke: lots of smoke ok Aroma
Heat on Fingers and in Mouth: some heat on the lips and fingers towards the end
Draw: perfect
Finish: finish was ok with some spice and leather
Other Aspects of the Cigar Smoking Experience: This cigar had a great burn, great construction, white ash held on very nicely
Overall my impression is it was a goiod cigar at least after the first 1/3. No clue how that weird beef jerky taset got into it but if not for that would have been a 7.5 and if the wrapper leaf had consistent color that would push it to 8-8.5

Reading the above reviews it seems this smoke was supposed to be perfectly box pressed.............I must have gotten the one at the end of the row in the box. 3/4 sides were square and the last was rounded over. Wrapper had a nice leathery feel to it. After cutting and tasting the wrapper it had a slight peppery taste to it. I lit this smoke with matches and even with my horrible match lighting skills the smoke had a perfect burn going after about 15 minutes. Initial draw was hard and produced little smoke, which I dealt with for the first 1/3 of the cigar. The last 2/3 of the cigar the draw was a little better and produced much more smoke. The taste had a def. tobacco taste to it. The flavor didnt change much throughout the cigar.
Overall was a good tasting smoke. 7 on the construction of the smoke and 7.5 on the taste.

PRESMOKE
Scent of wrapper: I thought it smelled like cedar with hints of vanilla bean.
Scent at foot: This reminded my of roasted nuts.
Apperance: Dark brown but a few inconsistinces.
Feel: To me this cigar had a feel like superfine sandpaper. Smooth but nicely rough.
Tongue: I thought this cigar had a peppery taste to it before lighting.
Flavor on Draw: When I put this cigar in my mouth before lighting it reminded my of Juicy Fruit Gum.
SMOKE
Taste:Started off buttery with a hint of vanilla. Through the middle the vanilla got stronger but the buttery flavor started to fade and toward the end it got peppery.
Strength:Medium to full
Feeling: Made me fell relaxed and helped me enjoy my Johnny Walker Red that I had with the cigar.
Scent of Smoke: Chocolate like bakeing brownies.
Heat On Fingers and in Mouth:Nice and cool.
Draw: Firm took a very long time to finish, went out on me a couple of times.

Draw: deliberate to start but became easier

Maduro Wrapper?
ATMOSPHERE: Smoked on a warm Arizona morning paired with coffee and Van Zant on my iPod.
PRE-SMOKE:
Scent: Some cocoa and leather from the wrapper. Mostly tobacco and light earth from the foot.
Appearance: Dark brown (maduro?), rustic looking wrapper. One of the sharpest box presses I have seen on a large cigar…reminded me of the Oliva G Maduro in shape.
Feel: A little hard in some places.
Pre-light draw: Nothing on the tongue. Tobacco and earth on the draw.
SMOKE:
Taste & Flavor: Initially I could not pick up much at all due to a very tight draw and lack of smoke. There was not enough to expel through the nose. After cutting in half (see below) I picked up some nice basic maduro flavors including bitter chocolate and light leather.
Strength: Medium.
Feeling: A little uncomfortable in the mouth and hand because of the sharp edges on the box press. Good resistance to chewing.
Scent of smoke: Very hard to tell because so little of it…maybe some cocoa?
Heat: None.
Draw & Burn: The draw was extremely tight after my usual punch cut and slightly better with a blade cut. After a few minutes of frustration I decided to cut the cigar in half and re-light after which the draw and amount of smoke were much better. Burn was pretty even.
Finish: Slight leather and cocoa after cigar cut in half.
OTHER:
Ash: Slightly flaky grey ash that held well.
Duration: Hard to give an accurate estimate.
CONCLUSION: This was the tale of two cigars. The first part of the smoke had a very tight draw and I could not pick up much flavor at all due to the lack of smoke. After cutting the cigar in half it was a good basic maduro with some nice chocolate and leather flavor. I would definitely not recommend this vitola due to the draw problems but a smaller size in this line might be worth trying.
FINAL RATING: First part of smoke=3, last part=6.5 so overall I will give it a 5/10.

ATMOSPHERE: In the garage on a rainy day.

Scent: Grassy.
Appearance: Box-pressed with noticeable veins; dark brown in color.

I would actually rate this a 7.5, it was a very nice box-pressed cigar that was a pleasant smoket o enjoy while b-b-q'ing.

Taste: First half: Initial puffs were leather tasting. Began to pick up some spice and it picked up throughout the smoke. Also picked up some nutty and woody flavors. Also picked up some bitter dark chocolate flavors. Second half: The cigar became extremely bitter and this bitterness would not go away, even with several purges. I ended up having to put it down.
Strength: Medium
Feeling: First half: very pleased. Second half: really disappointed.
Scent of Smoke: Smoking outside and what I picked up was pleasant.
Heat on Fingers and in Mouth: None
Draw: Started out tight with pre-light draw, but opened up and the draw became perfect.
Finish: First half: Smokey and woody finish with some spice on the back of the throat. Second half: Very bitter finish that lingers for a long time.
Other Aspects of the Cigar Smoking Experience: Even before I got to the half-way point, I rated this one an 8. However, due to the harsh bitterness encountered, I am give this one a 3. I suspect this cigar would be excellent in a shorter length and would like to give this cigar another try if I could find a shorter version.

Taste: started with butter popcorn and some spice...moved to spice and some woody hints

Wrapper: One very large vein that you can follow as the wrapper was wrapped around the filler. Slight spotting, possible bloom. Rustic, earthy brown with inconsistent coloring.
Feel: Very Firm
Tongue: Nothing
Flavor on Draw: Sweet, maybe honey, Tight draw.
Smoke
Taste: Very leathery/earthy with a very pungent burnt coffee type of taste.
Strength: Medium
Feeling: This was not an enjoyable smoke for me.
Smoke: Very little smoke off the cigar or in the mouth.
Heat: None
Draw: Very tight
Finish: Very musty/earthy, possibly like mushrooms. Something that stood out to me was that it tasted like styrofoam.
Other: Firm, light grey ash.
So far this is one of the worst cigars I have smoked and it is amazing when looking at the other reviews. Maybe I got a bad stick but it was so unenjoyable I could not bring myself to smoke more than 1/2 the cigar. Maybe I missed it! I would rate this a 2.5 on the ICRS scale.

Wrapper: a few decent sized veins, some lighter spots on a mostly darker brown

Flavor on Draw: tight draw, but after a bit of massaging it opened up nicely, got some spice and some sweet notes

Taste: this is the first time in awhile that i did not scorch the end of the cigar on lighting... got some nice leather and spice flavors

Scent of Smoke: average amount of smoke, smelled pretty standard to me
Heat on Fingers and in Mouth: stayed cool until i put it out
Draw: a bit tight but not bad at all

overall this smoke was pretty average to me, i see some good reviews and some bad but i'd put mine right in the middle at a 5.. maybe a 6 if the price was right (cheap) for value!
