Pros:
|
Good draw, aroma
|
|
Cons:
|
Unattractive wrapper, dry finish
|
|
Pre-smoke
Scent of Wrapper: Slight cocoa powder
Scent at Foot: Same
Wrapper: Blotchy, toothy, dry, a few medium sized veins. There was a large patch just above where the band would be.
Feel: Very firm
Tongue: Mild tobacco taste
Flavor on Draw: Musty, straw
Smoke
Taste: Slight herbal grassiness, very faint ammonia, undefined savory flavor
Flavor Changes: Once about halfway
Strength: Mild-Medium
Scent of Smoke: Mild, toasty
Heat on Fingers and in Mouth: Occasional sensation of heat on draw.
Draw: Slightly firm
Finish: Very dry
Other Aspects of the Cigar Smoking Experience:
The sample I had of this cigar had a wrapper that looked as if it had seen better days. The aroma from the wrapper reminded me of Dutch process cocoa powder with that distinctive hint of bittersweet chocolate. My first few puffs gave an ammonia overtone that led me to believe that this cigar would benefit from a bit more aging. Also, I was picking up on a savory flavor that I just couldn’t put my finger on. Near the midpoint the mild grassiness was replaced by a nutty flavor with hints of fresh sourdough bread. The finish on this cigar was one of the driest I have experienced in a while and I was constantly drinking water to keep my palate hydrated.
This was a good cigar, but not something that would appeal to me on a regular basis. I believe it would be a good “stepping stone” cigar for someone who is looking to make the transition from mild cigars to something a little bolder.

This was a cigar with a natural wrapper. The wrapper and foot very little to no smell. The Cap cut off clean and neat and the draw was good.
First Third: Wierd. I am tasting Corn Cob. I get nothing really at first but the aftertaste is corn cob. I'm not liking it too much.
Second Third: Now the flavor is taking a turn for the worse. It tastes like cooked wet corn cob. Kinda like the in a corn mash. I'm putting this cigar down.
Third Third: I couldn't take it.
Overall: I don't know what to say. This cigar tasted aweful. The wet corn cob flavor was not nice. I wonder what happened? Based on this smoke I would not recommend this cigar.

Blind review. 5 x 52 robusto.
ATMOSPHERE: Smoked outside in the evening paired with fresh Alabama air.
PRE-SMOKE:
Scent: Almost no smell.
Appearance: Smooth, natural wrapper with a few sun spots but nothing major.
Feel: Nice cigar. Nicely packed.
Pre-light draw: Very little taste. Not much on the palate.
SMOKE:
Taste & Flavor: Mild flavor. I can't put my finger on it, good but can't explain it. A slight increase in the taste near the end.
Strength: Very mild. No harsh taste whatsoever.
Feeling: Nice.
Scent of smoke: Leather, yeah diffinately leather.
Heat: Very little.
Draw & Burn: Solid throughout, but more smoke second half. No cracks in the wrapper. Perfect even burn all the way down - amazing!
Finish: Short, a little dry.
OTHER:
Ash: Nice burn and ash.
Duration: Smoked until about 1” remaining in roughly 1 hour 10 minutes.
CONCLUSION: An average cigar that was way little too mild for me, but a good cigar nonetheless. I would recommend this cigar. It was solid, honest.
FINAL RATING: 7.0 - Good solid cigar

Pros:

Nice mild cigar (I am not a mild cigar fan, but as far as they go this one was nice)
|
|
Cons:
|
Bad construction
|
|
This was a ,slightly unattractive robusto. The wrapper showed abuse and rolling problems. The flavor on this cigar was a nice change of pace. I try to keep mild cigars on hand for early morning sticks to remind me of the soft complexities that can be found in mild cigars. The dry mild flavor was reminiscent of Ashton's white label.
1/3 - Poor construction but lots of mild flavor. Cedar and Nut notes were prevalent.
2/3 - A few burn problems arose. Cured by the torch...lol. The flavors changed into light cocoa.
3/3 - A small bit of spice detected and the burn is going well once again. A nice breakfast smoke!
Overall, a great cigar with room for improvement. A new wrapper and this guy would rank with the best of the Mild's. WTG!!!

Pros:

Pleasant hints of sweetness. Seems to have a little age on them.
|
|
Cons:
|
Flavor did not wow me. Wanted a little more flavor out of the stick.
|
|
PRESMOKE
Scent of Wrapper: Not aromatic.
Scent at Foot: Not aromatic.
Appearance: Corona shape. Approximately 4.5 x 44
Wrapper: A little rough, a little toothy, some predominant veins. Mottled.
Feel: Tighter at the head. Slightly spongy at the foot.
Tongue: No tingle. No taste.
Flavor on Draw: Light tobacco flavor. Very slight hint of sweetness.
SMOKE
Lit up a little slow. The entire foot was a little bit slow to get going. The first few draws I am picking up a flavor. Not sure what to call it yet. Smoke is mild to mild-medium. Easy to roll. An adequate amount of smoke. Good draw.
1st Third:
This is a mild, pleasant smoke with just a little hint of sweetness and a little understated flavor. I like the flavor - a little hard to pin down - but if it were just a little stronger and a little sweeter, I would call it raisin and a little bit of vanilla.
Strength: The flavor is a mild to mild-medium.
The feeling (or nicotine strength) is mild. No nicotine effects.
Scent of the Smoke: Somewhat aromatic smoke. Not unpleasant with some sweet notes. Not heavy.
Heat on fingers and mouth: Nothing observed. Must be okay.
Draw: Satisfactory draw. No issues.
Finish: Short to medium finish. Mildly sweet notes on the finish. Not very dry. A little bit of cream, vanilla, and raisin.
Other: Consistent, even burn line. Wrapper is holding up well - not wanting to unravel. Produces an acceptable amount of smoke when drawn. No smoke when resting. I think this would be a good mid-day lunch time smoke. It is something you could walk around with. I like this cigar. The flavor is a little understated, but it has some nice sweetness that I would attribute to some aging. Liked the sweet notes and wish they would come out a little bit more. Nothing harsh about this smoke.
I would rate the construction a 6.5 and the flavor a 6. The wrapper is a bit rough and unsophisticated. The flavor is a bit understated and monotone, but I like the hints of sweetness. I would like this cigar better if you could bring out the sweet notes a bit more. I would pick up a few of these to smoke at lunch time if they were around the $1 to $1.50 mark. This one did not wow me, but there was nothing offensive about the cigar at all.

Pros:
|
Easy Draw, good cigar
|
|
Cons:
|
very rough looking visually
|
|
Scent of Wrapper: sweet
Scent at Foot: none
Appearance: very rough construction
Wrapper: rough, a little toothy, one thin vein
Feel: very frm
Tongue: No taste.
Flavor on Draw: Light tobacco flavor. Very slight hint of sweetness.
SMOKE
Not alot of smoke to it, surprisinly easy draw
1st Third:
Started out very mild with really no taste but quickly developed a hint of sweetness to it... kept developing a stronger taste as I went along
Strength: The flavor is a mild to mild-medium.
The feeling: Had it with an O'Douls (No I don't drink persay but I like the taste of beer nonetheless, especially with a a cigar), it was a relaxing smoke
Scent of the Smoke: Pleasant though I couldn't really say what it reminded me of except maybe a cigarette smoke smell
Heat on fingers and mouth: None
Draw: Very, very easy... almost too easy
Other: No burn problems, it smoked very well.
It started out almost tasteless then developed into a cedary taste, which kept deepening I thought at one point I had a spicy taste to it but that quickly changed.
The second part of the smoke was leathery and more of a medium flavor to it.
The last third had a slight tarry taste to it but not unpleasant.
Overall it was a very nice smoke and would smoke it again say in the morning....
Construction a 4 maybe 5. taste a 6...

Blind Tasting Panel Cigar #111
ATMOSPHERE: Smoked on a hot afternoon paired with iced tea while doing some writing on my laptop.

PRE-SMOKE:
Scent: Earth, some cocoa and very mild paprika from the wrapper. Stronger paprika and earth from the foot.
Appearance: Dark brown (maduro), very smooth with some small veins visible.
Feel: A little hard in spots…some cracking sounds when squeezed.
Pre-light draw: Nothing on tongue. Dirt and mild tobacco on draw.
SMOKE:
Taste & Flavor: Pretty mild flavors. Mostly earth and a hint of cocoa. More cocoa and some pepper when expelled through the nose…this was the best part of the smoke.
Strength: Very mild.
Feeling: A little hard to chew but not too bad.
Scent of smoke: Earth and burning wood. Tons of creamy white smoke.
Heat: None.
Draw & Burn: Excellent draw and pretty even burn.

Finish: Fairly short dry finish with a charred meat taste.
OTHER:
Ash: Powdery white ash that fell off a bit too easily.
Duration: Smoked to final inch in about 1 hr.
CONCLUSION: This cigar was far too mild and uninteresting in the flavor department for my tastes. The flavors were a bit better when expelled through the nose. The burn was very good and it produced tons of smoke. I would not really recommend it unless you like really mild cigars.
FINAL RATING: 5/10
Cheers!

Musty flavors, odd blend.
|
|
Scent of Wrapper: Spicy Cedar
Appearance:Mottled dull brown wrapper.
Feel: Firm, solidly rolled
Pre-light draw: No taste on tongue, only cedar on draw.
Taste & Flavor: Started mild and nice with woody cedar notes and some coffee, yet at the halfway point the flavors became muddled and musty.
Strength:Mild
Feeling: The first half of the stick was an enjoyable mild smoke, but the halfway point was just unenjoyable, an odd blend.
Scent of smoke:Rich woody aroma
Draw & Burn:Nice draw even burn and solid ash.
Finish:Cedar finish on the 1st half.
The odd flavors just turned me off on this stick.

Pros:

Good looking wrapper and appearance
|
|
Cons:
|
flavor was boring
|
|
I will try me best to remember this stick as my review sheet was soaked this morning as I had a little too much to drink and left it on the porch and the sprinklers got to it.
It had a nice dark brown wrapper and nice construction. It looked like a double cap and the wrapper was smooth with a few small viens. I did not really get much from the wrapper as far as flavor. I did pick up some hints of sweet spice and maybe cocoa from the foot. I cut it and put it to the tongue and it was a very smooth cut and nice feel to this stick. It had a nice draw and I picked up more of the spicyness and maybe some basement must along with some earth tones also. The stick had a few soft spots in it but seemed like it would burn and draw nice.
I toasted and lit the foot and started to smoke this baby. It had a very spicy start which soon mellowed to a leathery nothing. It stayed like this all the way through. It was very boring and had no flavor changes or strength changes to it. It did draw and burn nicely. I had to touch it up once from what I remember. It had a nice strong ash which held on nicely. The finish was very dry and stuck to your mouth. I never had an issue with the heat on my fingers or tongue. I would rate this at a 5 on the ICRS rating system. If it is a bundled stick I may like to get some and age them for yard-gars. I do not believe this to be anywhere over the 2-3 dollar mark.
