Description: The one pictured is not the one I tried. I tried the torpedo version. I could not find a pic of that. This is just a reasonable facsimile.

OMG! This was a cigar that I had after I got my fill on burgers & dogs. It was one of the best ever. Construction near perfect. The burn mostly even. I had to touch this one up a few times but, it could be because of me doing other things while smoking and that I took too long to smoke it. It also could be that it was a very windy evening while I was smoking it as well. Let me get right down to it. The flavor and aroma were impeccable. This one one of those rare cigars that has left an impression on my vertical cortex. Most cigars that I smoke I forget about the details of it after several days. I usually remember if I liked it or not. Was it a good cigar or a not so good one. This one however has made such an impression on me that I remember every little nuance about it. The cut, the prelight draw, the prelight aroma, the oiliness of the dark milk chocolate like wrapper, even the pattern of the wrapper leaf. This cigar has ranked up there with the best of the best. Nick Perdomo has constructed not only a fine cigar but a work of delectable art. A must buy for me. Not just a handful of sticks but an entire box.

Handcrafted in Esteli, Nicaragua by Tabacalera Perdomo, the Perdomo La Tradición Exclusivo is an enchanting cigar smoking experience. It is a complex blend of three local Nicaraguan filler tobaccos including the much heralded Pereze La Pequeno ligero wrapped in your choice of a chicory-brown Connecticut Shade or maduro Connecticut Broadleaf. It is a very creamy, smooth smoke with a mochaccino-like flavor and body.

Pros: flavor, aroma & cost
Cons: slow burning, relights

Pre-smoke
Scent of Wrapper: rich earthy tobacco fragrance

Scent at Foot: sharp tingling to the sinuses, no real distinguishing scents here

Appearance: well constructed torpedo, the head was so sharp that you could use it as a spare dart

Wrapper: dark chocolate and oily

Feel: very firm, (really hard) it seems as if this will have draw problems

Tongue: sharp bite, tingle (like a fresh lemon)

Flavor on Draw: not much just a rich tobacco taste

Smoke
Taste: coffee, oak and hints of chocolate

Flavor Changes: very consistent until the half way point; it started to pick up a little cedar and more coffee and oak

Strength: not much of a nicotine beast, very smooth yet flavorful

Feeling: joy and ease; this cigar has set me aloft another dimension, wow!

Scent of Smoke: sweet floral and cedar smoke billow from this amazing cigar

Heat on Fingers and in Mouth: no real heat from the cigar, the smooth smoke maintained ambient throughout

Draw: surprisingly, the draw was perfect for me; just a touch of deliberate resistence, in the pre-light the cigar seemed it would be plugged since it was so firm (hard); I have had other cigars that would be better used for kindling if they were as hard as this one was.

Finish: the only lingering taste that I got from this cigar was that of a mild coffee (maybe decaf), no seriously only a light taste of coffee bean after expelling the smoke

Other Aspects of the Cigar Smoking Experience: I had to relight this cigar four times. This cigar nearly took me two hours to complete! I am typically a slow smoker but this cigar burned deliberately slow. Maybe it was over-humidified? When I pulled it from my humidifier my hygrometer reading was 70% - 67 degrees. It burned slow but it burned straight leaving a nicely pointed ash when tapped. I think that this cigar is discontinued. If you can find these somewhere pick a few up. Smoke one and save the rest for aging. A few years would probably add cigar godlike status to these.

Final Rating: I rate this an 8-EXCELLENT
