Pros: Cedar flavor, burn, draw
Cons:

The scent of the wrapper was of an earthy clay nature. Appearance wise, it was a dark baked brownie-top brown with black spots. It did feel "thin" with some light veins. In regards to feel, it was consistent to hard. Upon placing the cut end to my tongue, I noticed a rich, oak flavor. The aroma at the foot was of straw and anis.

I used my single blade cutter on the head and had a good, clean cut. Upon the initial lighting, I noticed a very pronounced peppery and pungent cedar flavor. This cigar is very straight forward with the pepper and cedar, it hits your tongue and mouth area in full force during the first inch of smoking. Towards the second inch mark, it mellowed into a nice cedary flavor. The cigar ended on a mellow woodsy note with hints of damp cedar. The after taste alternated between cedar and of dry straw/hay.

The scent of the smoke was of a burnt musk quality that was very pleasing to the senses. The draw was consistent, not loose and just enough resistance to be just right. I had a steady and even burn throughout the duration of the smoking experience. This is full bodied cigar right from the get go and after a full meal, will be able to give your taste buds a good and pleasant work out.

Pros: Very full bodied with nice strong flavors.
Cons: Construction wise it seemed a little weak, a bit spongy and had a cheap look and feel. Also had a bitterness that while not entirely unpleasent it would keep this from being an everyday smoke.

The wrapper had a fairly strong scent of cedar when I smelled it. The appearance was ok, quite a few big veins, very spongy in feel with a slight greenish tint to it. The foot smelt of cedar even stronger than the wrapper with hints to me of freshly raked leaves, damp smell almost mossy. I used a notch cutter and the sponginess of the cigar made it difficult to get a really good cut. The flavor at the cut was slightly sweet with a very woodsy taste.

The initial draw was very loose and was filled with that woodsy taste again with a slight bitterness almost like a bitter coffee but not quite. The flavors were strong and the loose draw produced copious amounts of smoke. There was a pleasant finish of cedar. The bitterness continued to get a bit more extreme as the smoke progressed culminating at being very very bitter at about the halfway point where it did begin to mellow. The woody flavor of damp cedar continued throughout however and kept me pleased enough to continue.

The smoke coming off this cigar was a mixture of cedar and oak sort of like a camp fire when the wood is slightly damp. The whole smoking experience here reminded me of sitting next to a campfire and while that is very appealing the cigar itself wasn't fantastic. The cigar itself was never hot on the fingers or mouth. I was disappointed with how flaky the ash was and I had to touch up the burn quite often. It was a full bodied cigar and while decent would not make my everyday smoking list. Depending on the price I would recommend this cigar but I do not believe it warrants more than $3 or so. Overall a decent smoke that I give a 5.6

Pros: well made, woody cigar
Cons: Nothing that said, "Yeah baby!"

The wrapper had some prominent veins, was mottled in color, but had a nice sheen. It smelled woody or grassy. The cigar was firm and no soft spots or "rocks". The scent at the foot was grassy, but when I cut the head and tasted it the cigar was very peppery. The unlit draw tasted of grass and pepper.

After I lit it, this cigar had notes of pepper, but was also bitter. Immediately there was a lot of smoke. The flavor mellowed into more of a green wood and oat flavor with a bit of charcoal and still some pepper after the first quarter inch. The smoke smelled of wood and grass with a bit of cedar. Throughout the session the cigar burned even, had a nice draw, and I never had to touch it up. About halfway through the cigar became spicier and sour.

The ash was light grey to white, with few dark spots indicating most of the ammonia from the tobacco had evaporated off. Near the lit edge, oils "sweated" out. The finish burned the tongue, was spicy, and had a taste of charcoal.

I would classify the cigar as medium. It lacked complexity and the boldness I would associate with a full bodied cigar.

I had this cigar with Mount Gay Extra Old on the rocks. It took just over an hour to smoke, but there was nothing that Wow'ed me. I rate this cigar as a 5.

Pros: Good burn, solid build, and wonderful draw.
Cons:

This cigar is built really nice with a solid build. It does have an uneven color on the wrapper and a few veins, but that is a minor factor to me. It felt nice and the wrapper was almost silk smooth with a good cedar smell.

Once lit, the taste of cedar was moderate and dropped as you smoked it. Draw was perfect the entire cigar and it burned fairly cool and even. The smell was pleasant and not too strong, so you should not bother anybody after smoking it.

The ash was white and firm with no flakes. A testament to good tobacco. I would have to say it was a moderate to mild cigar that got milder as I smoked it. A good cigar to sit back and read a book with. Went well with my cup of coffee. I almost needed a roach clip to finish this one since I took it down to the nub. Great way to kill an hour or so on the back porch.

I give it a 7.5 personally, rounded up to 8 for the review. If I can afford it, I will give it space in my humidor.

Pros:
Cons:

Pre-smoke

Scent of Wrapper: All I could pick up on this was earthiness. My nose skills aren't so hot.

Scent at Foot: barnyard, chicken coopy once again.

Appearance: One thick vein. Small patch job about 1/3 of the way up from the cap

Wrapper: A bit of a mottled brown / greenish color. Dry looking. Toothy.

Feel: I could immediately feel a thick vein or stem under the wrapper (not sure if its the binder or in the filler)

Tongue: As usual, a bit tingly. Slightly leathery, and for lack of a better descriptor...tea leaves?

Flavor on Draw: Small hints of hay and grass.

Smoke
Taste: Initial tastes were a bit nutty. Can't determine which type of nut, but just nutty. Also a slightly bitter taste, although its not too hateful. About an inch and a half in, a slightly peppery taste kicks in. However, ammonia starts to show its ugly head once again. I fight it by purging after every puff. (by fire and by just blowing) waiting a minute, puffing again. Ammonia eventually wins and I call it a day.

Flavor Changes: nutty mixed with bitter, to peppery, to windex

Strength: didn't catch a buzz.

Feeling: tingling tongue, and that acrid ammonia goodness

Scent of Smoke: indistince again. i smoke outside

Heat on Fingers and in Mouth: not so much hot, but smoke was warmer than i was used to. maybe this was dry and burning too fast?

Draw:perfect draw. a little tough, not too loose

Finish: bitter, spicyness

Other Aspects of the Cigar Smoking Experience:
a. plumes of dense smoke
b. nice white ash. firm and held on for about 1.5 inches at a time
c. overall, i liked the flavors i got, but ammonia once again is the devil! would like to try again with age, but i won't seek this out until i know its not green.

Pros: Flavor; construction, with near perfect draw
Cons: Very slight burn issues

Pre-smoke

Scent of Wrapper: Freshly cut hay
Scent at Foot: Similar to wrapper, possibly a tiny bit more pungent (still hay, but maybe not freshly cut?)

Wrapper: A couple of large veins, and a mottled color (lighter color around the veins). Two minor wrinkles in the wrapper from rolling (being picky here). The cap was a little uneven, but well attached. Overall a good looking cigar.

Feel: Soft, spongy even. Very consistent throughout, with no voids or hard spots. Looks to be well constructed and cared for.

Tongue: Very slight spiciness, predominantly an oak taste

Flavor on Draw: Pleasantly musty, like worn leather, earth, or oak again.

Smoke
Taste and Flavor Changes: Initially very dry to the palate; by the 1” mark, had mellowed somewhat to a malty or caramel taste, with noticeable hints of cedar. By the halfway point the flavor weakened significantly and it grew more smoky. Not unpleasant in any sense, but it was a remarkable change.

Strength: Early on, I would have put this solidly in the middle of the spectrum at a medium. By the end, it had strengthened some. The flavor got more mild (in terms of presence) throughout the cigar, but its potency grew a good bit. By the end of the cigar, I would have put its potency at a strong medium or even on the lower end of the full bodied spectrum.

Feeling: N/A

Scent of Smoke: Similar to green wood on the fire.

Heat on Fingers and in Mouth: Nothing out of the ordinary.

Draw: In following with the construction, the draw was near perfect. It cut nicely, and drew well throughout the smoke. The roller did a good job on this one.

Finish: Short, smoky.

Other Aspects of the Cigar Smoking Experience:
I guess this is the comments section? The cigar was slow to light, and took several seconds longer than most for the charring light. I had no problems keeping it lit, but had to do a few touchups. It seemed to have one side that might have been a little more moist than the other, so it would lag behind and cause an uneven burn. I have certainly had worse, though. This was nothing too bothersome. The ash was smooth and remarkably white, except for the times I had to touch it up and made dark spots. The cigar was overall very pleasant, and reminded me of some of the Ecuadorian sungrown wrapped sticks I’ve had before. It had similar flavors, but much more muted than they have, though. The spiciness (cedar spice, NOT pepper spice to my uneducated palate) was present, but as I said, more muted and just barely made itself known. I would have rated the first half of the cigar an 8.0, and the second half a 6.0, so we’ll go with a 7.0 overall.

Final Rating: 7.0

Pros: I started out trying not to like it (too mild looking) but failed.
Cons: Could have had a little more strength/fuller body.

Like I said above I tried not to like it but fell under its spell. I really enjoyed this one too.
  • Scent of Wrapper: Sweet straw and grass.
  • Scent at Foot: Same as wrapper but lighter.
  • Wrapper: Toothy with one continuous vein curling all the way down from cap to foot. Medium brown with mottled dark/light areas. Slight sheen. It appeared to be well constructed and the cap held up well after cutting and chewing.
  • Feel: Nice and firm throughout.
  • Tongue: Slight tingle with spicy straw taste.
  • Flavor of Draw: Good light sweet straw/hay taste.
  • Taste: First third was mild with a sweet grassy taste and a nice hint of pepper. Last two thirds was consistently grassy with some nutmeg mixed in. The last 2 inches had some canoing going on but one touch up took care of it to the end.
  • Strength: Mild-Medium, which is what I though I would hate but the superb flavor made up for its lack of strength.
  • Feeling: Great, the grassy, nutmeg flavor took me back to grass cutting as a kid after the lawns were freshly mowed on a warm day. I know that sounds kind of goofy but that is what sprang to mind while enjoying it.
  • Scent of Smoke: Sweet nutty tobacco, very nice, pipe-like smell but not as strong or as sweet.
  • Heat of Fingers and in Mouth: Not unusual until I got to the end then it gave a little tongue burning but nothing horrible or uncomfortable.
  • Draw: Excellent deliberate draw - just about as fine as it gets in my opinion.
  • Finish: Long enjoyable draw. I finished it about an hour ago and can still taste a little of the nutty grassy taste. This increased my score by 1 point.
  • Other aspects: Got an oily sheen at the mascara line as it burned. This was a good above average smoke with good consistency throughout as far as quality of construction and taste.

The ash was nice and gray and it held tight for the first 1". It looked a little wobbly so I knocked it off; however, it may have lasted longer.

It made a good amount of smoke, which is important to me in any cigar. The smoke out of my nostrils also tasted and smelled good.

I have no idea on the price but as it could go either way. It didn't look expensive but the taste was excellent. Once I find out what it is I will head on to the local B&M and make sure they get it if they don't already carry it.

I was going to rate it a 7 but after I enjoyed the great "after taste" for a while I decided to raise my score to an 8. I believe that this one is the best of the five that I tested this time around.

Thanks for the privilege!

Pros: Wrapper color and feel
Cons: Vein thru entire stick

Pre smoke

Scent of Wrapper---Wood / Hay
Scent of Foot---Hay

Appearance

Wrapper—Veins run the length and cap overlap-no color problems.
Feel--- Tight feel
Tongue--Wood? Oak
Flavor on Draw—Hay

Smoke

Taste- Taste wood, field grass to start and mid way it was quite stronger.

Strength—Med. / Full
Feeling—Not a good feeling—wasn’t sure what to think of this cigar.
Scent of smoke—Smoke nothing there either
Heat on figures and in mouth—1/3 way started heating up and could no longer smoke this cigar, heat was bad and would let sit to cool off and would not stay lit—very uncomfortable smoke.
Draw—Draw was OK and when it stayed lit the Ash did not seem too bad.
Finish—Had to nub early because of the taste, heat and to me not staying lit.
Other Aspects of Experience—It started out OK but really was not pleased at all with the flavors coming from this cigar. Was not what I would expect from a good mid to high end cigar. Probably $1-3 dollar cigar.

Pros: Flavor
Cons: Not strong enough

PRE-SMOKE

Scent of Wrapper: Hay, grassy, earthy
Scent at Foot: Similar to wrapper, with woody tones
Appearance of Wrapper: Light brown, almost greenish hue, several noticeable veins, uneven coloring
Feel: Firm, fairly consistent
Tongue: Woody taste, very minimal tingle
Flavor on Draw: Very woody, maybe oak flavor

SMOKE

Taste: Initially, same oak taste from the unlit draw, notes of walnut
Strength: Mild to medium
Feeling: Pleasant, relaxed. I did get a headache towards the end, but that was probably more to do with needing to drink more water…
Scent of Smoke: Burning wood, almost like an open fire
Heat on Fingers and in Mouth: None at all, even down to the end
Draw: Just a little tighter than I’d like, but nearly perfect
Finish: Bitter, but not unpleasantly so

FINAL RATING: Six – A pleasant, woody cigar. Nice flavor throughout, never really going too far in one direction. Good finish, and although it won’t be a standard for me, I can promise this won’t be the last one I smoke.

Pros: great, even burn, soft 'chewy' cap.
Cons:

Darkish wrapper, with mild veins. Mine had one running the full length of the cigar. It was perfectly round, with, from what I saw, no flaws. There was a slight sheene to the wrapper, but I wouldnt say it was oily as such. There was a strong tobacco scent pre light. It was firm to the touch, and looked tightly rolled. It cut smoothly, and there was a great pre light draw. No bitterness on my lips from my pre light draw. I couldnt pick the taste, but it was familiar, so I went around my house smelling things. The benchtop, computer table, skirting boards, architraves, window frames, then the blinds. Ahh, cedar blinds.
When I lit it, now dont laugh, but I thought of bbq steak. It was in the first puff, then it was gone. There was a peppery taste, and it was pleasant tasting on my lips. There was no bitterness. There was good quantities of smoke too. Thats a big plus in my books. Burn was true as. You could hang doors level with this. White as white ash too.

Pros: BURNS WELL AND HAS A GRASSY SMELL TO IT
Cons: NOT STRONG ENOUGH, VERY MILD

I did not like this cigar. Don't get me wrong it burned well and the draw was good but other than that I did not like the taste of it and it did nothing for me
