Pros: I did enjoy the light nutty flavor
Cons: I'd have to say the construction, draw, and flaky ash detracted from the smoking experience.

This cigar was light brown with a wrapper scent of earth. The scent at the foot was of cedar, I could not detect a noticeable flavor when placing the tongue on the freshly cut end. The wrapper is veiny, and had a variety of slightly darker brown spots. I had a brief disappointment as upon the cut, a good section of wrapper flayed off. The feel of the cigar was consistent to hard. Upon taking a few dry draws, I noticed a creamy flavor that was pleasant.

Upon the initial light up of the cigar, I detected bitter coffee and light ammonia. The scent of the smoke was of a cedary, smoky nature. The feel of it in your hand was hot as it burned very hot. The draw was firm to hard, which was a noticeable drawback. In regards to finish, this cigar gives off a light nutty flavor with hints of tea towards the half-way point. At the end of it, the nutty-tea aspect continued, though was joined by a slight hint that was of a creamy variety.

I did enjoy the light nutty flavor In regards to concerns, I'd have to say the construction, draw, and flaky ash detracted from the smoking experience.

Pros: Creamy goodness!
Cons: Wrapper crackly-ness!

Pre-smoke

Scent of Wrapper: This is always hard for me to tell, but a bit hay-ish and woody.

Scent at Foot: straight up barnyard

Appearance: the wrapper musta took a beating during shipping, cuz its falling apart in places. This is the only smoke in the package that is like this, so it appears that its fairly thin. So appearancce fails miserably.

Wrapper: its an "average" brown color. tooty in texture, appears to be a cameroon if I'd have to guess

Feel: I'm afraid to feel it up, as the wrapper is so crackly. Yet, I do, and it cracks further. Shoulda resisted.

Tongue: Gives off a bit of a "baseball glove string" leathery taste

Flavor on Draw: I have no clue. It's fairly indistinct

Smoke
Taste: Initials puffs are creamy! Sooo good. I'm convince this is a cameroon now, and I have a guess to the Brand / Line. I notice a hint of "toast" in there as well. About half way, a bit of ammonia trickles into the flavor, pissing me off. I"d be happy with cream and toast I purge, but it keeps finding its way back.

Flavor Changes: flavors were fairly consistent, other than the ammonia entering in at about the half way point

Strength: i'd say this was medium body.

Feeling: didn't really give me any buzz or anything like that

Scent of Smoke: i was outside, but it was a bit cedary, rather light smelling smoke

Heat on Fingers and in Mouth: not hot at all. i did let it go out with about 1/3rd left, but it didn't ever seem hot

Draw:draw was a little too tough for me. didn't get out the volume of smoke that I usually like to.

Finish: it had a nice finish. nothing overpowering, and it didn't linger on for 8 hours, but it was creamy.

Other Aspects of the Cigar Smoking Experience:
a. the wrapper was way too delicate. even cutting the cap caused it to crack further. this make smoking way too difficult.
b. as much as I like the flavor of this cigar, the wrapper ruined it. I'd love to try it again if there was no evidence that it would fall apart on me.
c. ash was flaky and didn't hang on for over an inch.

Final Rating: 7.3

Pros: Looked good
Cons: No character to speak of, tight draw

This cigar looked fairly good. Mostly even wrapper color, with only a small vein to speak of. It felt fairly solid except for a soft spot in the center. A plain, light tobacco smell on initial examination.

When I lit it up, however, it was very bland. A little pepper taste started around 1/2 of an inch in, but it never went anywhere. The taste was just too mild.

It tried to canoe at first, but finally evened out about 1/2 way. The draw was somewhat tight at the beginning and got tighter as you went along. I had to work a little with this cigar. The ash was light grey with a few flakes and darker ash spots.

I got what what felt like a pipe smokers "tongue bite" starting up about 1/3 of the way into the cigar. I slowed down my puffing, but it didn't help. It just kept getting warmer in the mouth as it was smoked.

While I got a slight nicotine buzz towards the end, this cigar did nothing for me. I kept hoping that something would develop and redeem this cigar, but it never did. It just teased me the whole way through, with no character to speak of at all.

Pros: No unpleasent flavors, very good draw
Cons: Wrapper was a little torn, very mild almost to the point of being bland.

Pre-smoke

Scent of Wrapper: Mild smell of cedar with just a hint of coffee

Scent at foot: Same as wrapper with maybe a bit more of the coffee

Appearance: Slightly veiny with a wrapper tear on the foot that could have happened during shipping.

Wrapper: Light brown in color

Feel: Very firm almost hard.

Tongue: Hardly any taste off of it doing this.

Flavor on draw: Slight sweet taste with a little bit of weak coffee and maybe some nuttiness.

Smoke

Taste:
Creamy smoke with a bit of nuttiness a slight spice and some coffee undertones, a little bitterness crept in at the halfway mark but it wasn't too noticeable. All of these tastes were extremely subtle however.

Flavor changes: None really except the little added bitterness at the halfway mark.

Strength:
Very mild almost too mild.

Feeling: Very relaxed I didn't have to focus too much on the cigar I was able to live the moment without having to worry about the smoke going out or a bad burn.

Scent of smoke: I couldn't quite put my finger on how to describe it but it was definitely not offensive.

Heat on fingers and in mouth: Mine remained cool pretty much the whole time it got a little hot at the halfway point but it cooled down.

Draw:
Very good draw again got a little hard at the halfway mark but it straightened itself out.

Finish:
Nuttiness on the finish, very mild but smooth.

This cigar burned nice and straight for me, the tear at the foot did nothing to affect how it smoked. This cigar is very mild, would be a very good cigar for a new smoker or for your first cigar of the day. I would say it's a good $3-$4 cigar and if not it's an average $5-$6. Overall I give it a 7 it didn't blow me away or anything but it didn't make me want to scrub my tongue off with paint thinner. I would smoke another one if given to me and might buy a couple if the mood strikes me for a mild smoke.

Pros: Looked nice
Cons: sort of bland... read on

The scent of the wrapper was like sweet tobacco. When I first looked at it this cigar reminded of another cigar I could not place. The wrapper had a slight vein and had a greenish tint. The feel was firm. The scent at the foot was of soft leather. When I cut it, the taste at the head was sour and the draw was good and tasted of green wood. Around part of the cut head there was a snow white edge to a section of the leaf.

I lit it and the first draw reminded me where I had seen a cigar like this before... a Garcia y Vega.

As I smoked it it was bitter, green, salty, and sort of like cardboard in taste and rather mild. I tried to smoke this cigar. Honestly, I did. It was just too horrible for me to get past about half an inch. It was just awful. To me it was no better than buying something at the drug store. I had to put it down and go grab one of my other cigars to finish my relaxation time. I would not recommend this cigar to anyone unless they were looking for something to smoke while fishing in order to keep mosquitoes away.

Perhaps I just was not in the mood for this cigar, or my pallate was off tonight.

Pros: Like the Cedar taste and it was rolled nice
Cons: Slight wrapper peel but was not bad

Pre-Smoke

Scent of wrapper--- Cedar Earthy

Scent of Foot---Earthy

Appearence---Few veins and noted some spots

Feel---Hard, Tight (positive)

Tongue---No taste to speak of

Flavor on Draw---Some slight coffee--I liked

Smoke

Taste---Taste of cedar, kind of creamy

Strenth---Mild

Feeling---Relaxed me and enjoyed the smoke

Scent of smoke---I really could not tell other than maybe Oak

Heat on fingers---No heat until about a 1.5" from the end

Draw---Had a nice draw and was consistant to the end

Finish---Mild cedar finish with notes of oak

Other aspects of the Cigar---I really liked the look, feel, taste, and construction of this cigar. The only thing that was bad was the little raveling and spots on the wrapper. This did not take away from the nice smoke and burn of the cigar.Would probably recommend this cigar. I like a good Mild to Medium smoke and this was one of them. I enjoyed it pretty much.I would put a price on this cigar to be in the $3-$5 dollar range.

Pros: great pre-light qualities
Cons: aweful taste

pre-smoke:

Great looking wrapper, no problems.
Smell of wrapper: mild smell of cedar
smell at foot: mild cedar and coffee
feel: perfect. not too tight, not loose at all.
toungue press: small spice, nothing else
pre-draw: slight coffee.

smoke: had no taste to me. tastes like straight smoke
smell: slight cedar
feeling: made me uncomfortable
heat on fingers: none for the small part i smoked
draw: very good
finish: couldn't

i got about 2 inches through this before i couldn;t take it anymore. not worth the time. I was so happy at hte beginning cause it looked GREAT! really let me down. i wouldn;t buy this cigar if it was 50 cents.

Pros: Not many.
Cons: I had to toss it before I was done if that tells you something.

Well I gave this a 2 because I hardly ever give 1s or 10s, but it was probably closer to a 1. I guess I have to give it a 2 since the pre-light scent wasn't bad.
  • Scent of Wrapper: Sweet non-descript, maybe slightly woody
  • Scent at Foot: Same as wrapper
  • Wrapper: light brown one vein but the problems started here with some three splits in the wrapper. My other smokes in my humi are fine and so are the other four in this blind test, so my guess is that this cigar is at fault.
  • Feel: Too firm except in the middle it was spongy.
  • Tongue: Tingly woody taste.
  • Flavor on Draw: No taste and way to tight.
  • Taste: You know I really couldn't tell as it reminded me of trying to smoke a thick milkshake, I could hardly get it to draw. After about .5 to .75 of an inch, after light, the wrapper started coming off in chips and unraveling.
  • Feeling: I felt great because I didn't fork out any $ for this one but bad because I really detest getting to this point on a smoke.

I hate to say it but I tossed it out after trying to save it by first clipping it off and relighting it - to no avail.

I also rolled it around with slight pressure between my fingers. I have found that sometimes with a hard draw this will "breakup" the clogging point and allow it to draw better, but it didn't work here. Keep in mind the wrapper had already gone away and this started the cigar to really deteriorate.

I was also hard to keep lit before and didn't provide a lot of smoke while it was lit.

I hope this was a real cheapie as it was a very unsatisfactory smoke almost from the first match.

Pros: Lit readily; mellow, cedar like flavor
Cons: A slight bit of a loose wrapper; uneven burn early on

Pre-smoke

Scent of Wrapper: A very faint cut grass/stored hay scent

Scent at Foot: Similar to wrapper

Appearance/Wrapper: Several small veins; had a very mottled brown/gray appearance; the wrapper telegraphed the bulges from the binder, and the wrapper was loose in a couple of places. Overall, the construction was fair.

Feel: Consistently dense and firm.

Tongue: No spice whatsoever; very little perceived taste at all, actually

Flavor on Draw: Similar to wrapper scent; hay

Smoke
Taste/Flavor Changes: An immediate cedar flavor upon lighting (strange I didn’t pick that up pre-light); the cedar notes were a bit spicy, but not in the peppercorn sense. Pleasant, but mild. The cigar mellowed even more at the 1” mark, and developed a flavor reminiscent of bergamot (for you English tea drinkers).

Strength: Mild throughout

Feeling: N/A

Scent of Smoke: Oak and cedar notes, with an occasional whiff of unground black pepper

Heat on Fingers and in Mouth: About average

Draw: Excellent draw (Just ever so slightly tighter than perfect)

Finish: Medium in length; very malty and cedar like in flavor (nice)

Other Aspects of the Cigar Smoking Experience: Early on the cigar had a bit of an uneven burn. At about the 2” mark, however it experienced a miraculous recovery…perfect, razor straight burn from then on out. As I'm typing this in and reading the other reviewers, I have to say mine was not nearly as bad as theirs...it was a decent smoke for me. It didn't set my heart ablaze, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. A solid 6.0

Final Rating: 6.0

Pros: no heat in mouth or on fingers throughout
Cons: wrapper flaws, extremely bland

PRE-SMOKE

Scent of Wrapper: Faint Earthiness
Scent at Foot: Almost like wheat
Appearance of Wrapper: Flawed with some spots and small cracks and starting to come apart, possibly from transit? Wouldn't be the first thing damaged on the way through Iraq.
Feel: Uneven, firm towards the ends and a definate soft spot in the middle
Tongue: Nothing notable, not even a small tingle
Flavor on Draw: Raw woody taste

SMOKE

Taste: Very light cedary cream flavor, hint of burnt coffee
Strength: Super mild
Feeling: Left me wanting more
Scent of Smoke: Woody scent, from what I could tell - there wasn't much smoke produced and i had others herfing with me, so that may have overpowered mine
Heat on Fingers and in Mouth: None to speak of
Draw: Tighter than I prefer
Finish: Short cedar finish, faded quickly

FINAL RATING: Four - Far too mild, hard to draw, low smoke volume, and pretty bland flavor. I'd get another only to let it sit for a few months in the humidor and see if that improved anything. The whole experience gave me the impression that it needed some time to age and possibly develop new complexities that just weren't present yet. Not convinced that I'd recommend this to anybody else, but I will try anything at least twice.

Pros: smooth
Cons: mild almost to the point of being a bit bland

This cigar looked pretty good. Mostly even wrapper color, with a few small veins to give it character. It felt fairly solid most of the way thru, with no real soft spots.
Taste was a bit of nuttiness & a slight spice. I didn't really get a buzz or anything like that from this smoke, so im going to day it was a mild at best. didn't really give me any buzz or anything like that. This cigar burned nice and straight, with no real need to relight.

Overall, it didnt grab me, but I would smoke it as a yard stick, because it kept on burning, and you could potter around without getting laid off your feet.
