Description: The Green Label is manufactured by Pepin Garcia in Nicaragua, and is the most full bodied of the 601 cigar series. This Nicaraguan Puro looks fantastic in its Oscuro wrapper.

Pros: Nice smooth flavors, burn, and construction!!!
Cons: Can't get em yet!!!!

PRE-SMOKE

Scent of wrapper: Sweet with very little spice, hints of cocoa.

Scent at foot: some earthyness with more spice.

Wrapper: Very nice Oscuro wrapper, very dark brown. It was very silky smooth with almost a sheen to it. There were almost no veins vivible. It was topped with a triple cap!!

Feel: This stick was a medium firm. It had a few soft spots, but nothing bad.

Tongue: It cut very nicely, and was smooth on the tongue. There was no tingle to the lips or tongue. I did see a few meduim sized stems vivible after the cut.

Flavor on draw: Earthyness, cocoa, coffee, and some spice to it.

SMOKE

Flavor: This was a very nice blend. I can't wait to try this after about 6 months to a year of age on it. I believe it will meld nicely. I picked up a few different flavor changes throughout. It had lots of coffee/cocoa, with some cedar on the second half. I did not get any of the earthyness I got from the pre-light though.

Strength: I would say the first third was a med/full strength, then moved to a medium and then back to med/full!!

Burn/Ash: It had a nice solid ash which held on for about 2-2 1/2 inches and had very little flakyness to it.

Scent of Smoke: I could smell some sweetness and a nice tobacco smell.

Heat on fingers/Mouth: Heat was never an issue with this bad boy!!

Draw: Perfect!!

Finish: The finish was short lived. It was a good finish though. It had some nice cedar and coffee.

Overall this stick was one of the best I have had by 601, and cannot wait to get a box of these. I will say I thought it would have been a little more full bodied than it was. This is a very nice addition to the line they already have. It would go well with some nice strong coffee or a deep dry red wine. I give this a 8.25-8.5 on the ICRS rating system.
