I have to say that I was eagerly awaiting the time when I would get the chance to smoke the maduro version of this cigar. I had the regular connecticut shade wrapper version at a friends house a few weeks back and loved it. Then I found out that they had released a maduro version. I found them at a local B&M this past weekend. I bought the Toro and Belicoso size. I decided to smoke the Toro first.
The pre-light aroma has a very strong chocolate/coffee smell that was very pleasant. I almost want to hang one from my rearview mirror in my truck to get that smell in there! It had an easy draw after clipping it. It lit very well and produced a lot of smoke. It started out with that chocolate/coffee taste that matched the aroma that I mentioned above. It turned more towards a leathery taste near the middle of the cigar that was also very nice. I think that if you let these rest for a while and let the flavors blend then it would be an even better cigar. It had a pleasant finish and stayed pretty consistent around the Medium body that it started out with. I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys the Oliva Maduro or the Punch Maduro lines
