Description: Well, I had one little RP Connecticut Robusto that I had purchased as a 10 pack from Cigars International almost a year ago. I had smoked a few and gave a way a couple over the months but left this little soldier to sit and rest for a while. Well, the weather was great and I was in the mood for a mellow smoke, so I picked it up out of my humi and figured I would share my experience.

Well, to start with the stick was kept at 65% in my aging humi and thanks to Heartfelt beads, it stayed right on the money. It's a Connecticut wrapped Honduran blend stick that is a CI exclusive. The stick was firm but with a little give to the touch. The CT wrapper looked delicate but was well wrapped with no signs of tears or flakes at the foot or elsewhere for that matter.

I clipped the cap with my Palio and took a pre-light draught. It was sweet and a bit earthy - just as I remembered from the last time I smoked one of these. I light the foot and it started up evenly. The first few puffs were creamy and leathery tasting and the draw was just right! This soft creaminess was the overriding taste throughout the smoke. I was surprised at how well the ash held up. I had an inch and a half or so before I tapped it into the stinky. The ash was a mix of dark gray and white and the stick had a good sharp burn for the most part.

Though not too complex, the mellow creaminess stayed apparent. Puff after puff was smooth and flavorful and had no hints of sharpness at all. Exactly what I was looking for this afternoon. It was the perfect smoke for the day. I paired it with a nice bottle of Natural Brew Rootbeer, as my fave Virgil's was out of stock. The herbal sweetness complimented the leathery taste of the stick well. I enjoyed the cigar for about an hour while listening to the Dogwatch on my iPod and enjoyed it thoroughly. This is a mild but flavorful smoke that I will go back to every once in a while when I want something light. I recommend it whole-heartedly, but would advise you to age the stick for a couple of months (if you can stand it) to mellow out any harshness. Do that and I think you will be satisfied! Hope you enjoyed my review.
