Description: Pre-Smoke

Scent of Wrapper and foot was woody and nutty. Also had a slight coffee aroma.

Appearance was great. No large veins and it was hard to find the seams of the leaves. The dark color is very appealing, even though it was not a maduro.

Feel was good. Solid, but not too solid. Not soft anywhere throughout.

On the tongue there was the feel of dense leaves and again there was the nutty/woodsy flavor.

Flavor on pre-light draw was the same. The woodsy/rugged flavor was nice and I couldn't wait to light it.

Taste upon lighting it was of cedar and nuts. I detected a slight bit of molasses and it was somewhat sweet. The first 1/3 of the cigar was mild to medium and very tasty. The cedar/nutty taste was there throughout. The second 1/3 it became a full medium flavor and the original flavors were more pronounced. The last 1/3 of it was medium to strong and again the same flavors followed, along with a slight peppercorn flavor.

There was no heat on the fingers and mouth and the burn was damn near perfect.

The draw was great, too. Not too tight and not loose at all. I was quite pleased and surprised because the flavors were brilliant and the aromas from the smoke were good throughout.

The ash was about 1 1/2 inches before it fell off. Long ashes are not a problem with this cigar. I was a bit intimidated because it is long...7 1/2 inches. It took about 40 minutes to smoke and I enjoyed it the entire time. I've always like Padron cigars and this one was no exception. Luckily, I have 10 or so more waiting to get sacrificed

I'd easily give this cigar an 8.5-9. Brilliantly rolled and the flavors and aromas were excellent throughout.

Excellent review, Joey. As you stated, the size of this cigar can be intimidating, but it is an easy smoke with lots of flavor and enjoyment.

Thanks, Chris. This cigar would have been perfect with a stout beer or some 15 year single malt. Sadly, I forgot to grab my scotch and am out of stouts. Very very tasty.

It would have been ideal for sitting around a campfire or bonfire.
