I've had a couple of these kicking around in my humidor for a while and decided to take one for a ride tonight. Amazing is the only adjective I can use to describe this inexpensive/bundle cigar.
The Flor is a Nicaraguan cigar and is by no means a second to Oliva's premier line, and at <$2.50 per cigar, they're great.
The feel to the cigar before lighting it was firm, but not too firm and consistant throughout. I clipped the point of the torpedo and when I did the pre-light draw, I got hints of the smokey flavor and also a nutty taste.
The F de O is very easy to light and the first third of the smoke was very aromatic with a lot of great, white smoke. The draw was very easy, but not too easy, and the burn was perfect. Nothing more than 1/32" off all the way around which is usually not expected on inexpensive cigars.
The second third the flavors spiced up a bit. It became a full on medium flavored cigar with hints of cedar, black pepper, and coffee. The biggest surprise was that I had over 2 inches of solid white ash before it fell off. Then, the ash resumed where the first left off and didn't fall off again until I got to the band.
The last third was a full flavor and quite nice. My wife even commented on the nice smell of the smoke. I nubbed it to about an inch or so, until the heat became too much. When it was gone, I found myself smiling because of the tastes left in my mouth. The burn the whole way down was perfect. I was surprised because of the consistancy of the burn and long ashes.
I will be ordering a bundle of these on my next purchase. For the money, the bands could be removed and replaced by bands from more expensive cigars and no one would know the difference. These are a great cigar that won't break the wallet as an everyday smoke.
Final rating would be an 8-8.5 out of 10.
