Description: I received this cigar straight from the factory. Ted's is a new subsidiary of a larger company, but I can't think of the name right now.

My first reaction was with the packaging. What an amazing job they did for marketing of a great looking cigar. The cigar had a lot to live up to with everything that went into packaging.

The cigar was firm, but not too firm. Great smell and flavor or the wrapper. Pre-light draw was pretty easy and I had great expectations for this cigar. It lit easily and the burn was pretty good at the beginning, and stayed that way throughout the entire smoke.

There was a good supply of smoke and the draw was perfect. Sadly, the flavors weren't there. I was expecting something, anything from this smoke and it left me waiting and hanging on for any flavor. Nothing ever developed. I've had more/better flavor from a dollar gas station smoke. I smoked it all the way down to the nub and nothing ever developed.

I kept waiting and wanting something to happen, but it never did. It was mild from start to finish. My wife's comment about the aroma of the smoke was "it smells like my grampa's crap cigars". Enough said about the aroma.

With everything that went into the packaging and marketing of this cigar, hopes were high and I was disappointed. There were no outstanding flavors and nothing special about this smoke. It did burn amazingly even throughout, but that's only a small benefit. For a cigar that retails between $8-$10, the value isn't there and unless I'm bombed or gifted another, I won't try this one again. I don't want to put all my opinions on one smoke, but for that much coin, I can find a plethora of other great smokes.

Pros: looks great
Cons: no bang for the buck

I am getting another Ted's and will let it sleep for longer than a week. I'm also getting the robusto which might affect my experience because it's a little shorter and should spice-up quicker. I'll repost after I smoke the next one and let everyone know if things have changed with the second one.

Pros: nice draw, decent burn
Cons: No umph to it

Sadly, I have to agree with you on this review. I was expecting much more based on the marketing and packaging. It was decent but way too mild for my btaste. Like you said, the draw was good, nice ash etc but no umph to the stogie.

Pros: Good complexity for a mild cigar
Cons: Mildness

While mild cigars are not to everybody's taste, Ted's Made By Hand is an excellent mild cigar.

Wrapper has a very nice CT tobacco smell with grassy, hay like tones. Foot is grassy with more of an earthy aroma. The wrapper is a beautiful CT shade grown leaf. Construction is perfect with a not to firm, not to soft feel. The tast on the cut end is very mild.

This is a very tasty and complex cigar. The taste at first is very creamy, growing into a nuttiness that grows in intensity as the cigar burns. For a mild cigar, it is very complex. This is a very mild cigar, so if mild cigars are not to your taste, it isn't for you. Makes a great morning cigar with a cup of coffee. It is a bit too mild for me to smoke very often but it is a very, very good example of a mild, CT shade grown cigar.
