Description: Pre-smoke
Scent of Wrapper: A little leathery, but quite pleasant.

Scent at Foot: Slight hint of pepper, spices, and a little floral.

Wrapper: Quite a beautiful wrapper. Very Smooth with one small vein running the length of the cigar.

Feel: Very firm feel, but not too firm. Just about perfect.

Tongue: The taste on my tongue was smooth, with no noticeable flavors left on my tongue.

Flavor on Draw: I immediately noticed a slight tingle on my lips and another hint of pepper. I became somewhat excited about this cigar because I wasn't expecting too much from it.

Smoke
Taste: Initially, the tastes were somewhat explosive and shocking. Pepper, leather, woodsy flavors right from the start.

Flavor Changes: The first third was rather mild, but quite flavorful. The second third was consistant with the first, but still quite tasty. The last third picked up a bit and started to give a bit more kick. I inhaled a little bit and was quite pleased with the flavors.

Strength: The Gold started mild and finished a solid medium. Nothing harsh or over-dominating with the change of flavors.

Feeling: This cigar was quite nice and a great way to end a hectic day. Again, not so boring that I lost interest, but enough that I knew I was gonna nub it.

Scent of Smoke: As for scent, I relied on my wife. She thought it had a nice aroma and wouldn't mind me smoking more of them.

Heat on Fingers and in Mouth: I got a little heat in my mouth, but nothing on my fingers or in my mouth, until I started to nub it, which is quite understandable.

Draw: The draw was perfect. No plugs and not too easy.

Finish: Anyone who's ever smoked a 5 Vegas knows there's a little hint of after taste. Nothing bad or overpowering, but different. The after taste is still quite decent and pleasant. The peppery/leathery taste has stuck with me for about 20 minutes.

Other Aspects of the Cigar Smoking Experience: I'm not usually a big 5 Vegas fan and had read mixed reviews about the Golds, so I wasn't too jazzed before I lit it. I smoked the robusto and thought it was very good. Overall, I'd give it a 6 or 6.5 and would easily pick-up more of them. The flavors were a little toned down from the A series, which was a nice change.
