Pros: Perfect draw, rich flavor and unique construction.
Cons: Hard to find and prices vary greatly.

The cigar: JFR "Titan" 6.0x60

Time: Evening
Place: In my neighbors lounge area.
Drink: Shiner Bock

Pre-Smoke Countdown
The JFR Titan cigar has eluded me for a while but I finally landed one. It is a beautiful cigar with a unique construction. It has a pig tail head and an unfinished foot. I am not a huge fan of the unfinished foot but I had no problems with a good light on this Titan. I really enjoy the large ring gauge. This cigar had been aged nicely and felt like it had adapted to a proper RH. The wrapper and foot both had a nice natural sweet scent; I'll add that the scent was very prominent. The wrapper is full of veins and character. I used one of my cheap plastic guillotines and snipped off the pigtail head. My cousin prefers to twist off the pig tail creating a small hole in the head. Lets light it up...

Fire It Up
This cigar had a fairly consistent burn throughout and a very nice draw. I did have to re-direct the burn about halfway through the smoke and I did experience some tunneling during the first quarter of the smoke. The ash was a nice chalky white and stayed together quite well. The weight of the stick was normal for its size. I was very impressed with the draw...

Taste It
The first flavor impression with this smoke was very rich and earthy. The smoke was very thick and just really impressive; a great draw. I experienced layers of rich, spicy flavors with notes of earth and leather, complemented by a pleasant peppery flavor. I also noticed a toasted-like flavor throughout. The finish was surprisingly sweet and very enjoyable. I didn’t want to put the cigar down towards the end.

How Much
I paid $6.75 for my Titan but have noticed that the prices on these sticks vary quite a bit. I have seen them as high as $15 and have heard of people buying them as little as $4.00. The JFC is now available and can be found on most catalog cigar retailer’s web sites although, I do not know if the blends are the same.

Conclusion
This is a full-bodied smoke with layers of rich, complex flavors; The JFR captures the taste and nose found in authentic Cuban cigars; a fresh rolled cigar, picked right up off a rolling table in a factory in Havana. I really like the look of this cigar; it is a great gift cigar and will catch the attention of true connoisseurs.

Score: 8/10
Buy It Again: If I can find them for less than $9.00, Yes.
Recommend It: If you like a full bodied smoke, Yes
