Pros:

SMELLED LIKE BREAD
|
|
Cons:
|
SUPER HARD DRAW
|
|
This cigar on the presmoke was like bread and grain. The wrapper had a few veins in it. It felt spongy and a little oily and tasted liked burnt toast before lighting. After lighting it remined me of bread and cereal. The cigar was very hard to get a draw on and I would not recomend this one. I have to give this one a thumbs down

Pros:

The cap was good
|
|
Cons:
|
poor quality
|
|
This cigar was dark, and veiny. It did have a nice cap on it. It was rock hard, and looked rugged.
I found two stems in the foot.
The wrapper smelled of light cocoa and straw.
The unlit draw was too tight and tasted of pepper and straw.
I also found 3 stems in the head.
The smoke had a floral bouquet and almost smelled of incense.
The lit draw was too tight to get a good flavor.
The wrapper was thick.
For me cigar time is relaxing time. It is a time when I am forced to slow down. It is also the time for me to gather thoughts and think. I do not like to work this hard on a cigar.

Pros:
|
Black peppercorn with bread
|
|
Cons:
|
Not an enjoyable cigar / had hard time smoking it, heavy on the draw.
|
|
Prelight:
Appearance: Brownish / Slight small veins
Feel: Hard firm tight feel
Tongue: Strong Steak feel
Flavor: Sweetness like some sort of woody taste
Prep: Straight cut.
Smoke:
First third - Consistent with lots of pepper & bitter coffee taste to it.
Second third - This cigar maintained a medium taste with a good ash firm ash, also kept the same taste.
Final third - Cigar ended with a medium taste, fair firm ash consistency with oily tart flavor at the end.
Overall, I would give this a rating of 3.8 and definitely wood not recommend it, throughout the smoke I kept thinking when was it going to finish.

|
Cons:

Not complex, bitter, not very tasty

Cigar: Blind #135
Environment: About 3:30pm, upper 50's, rainy with a bit of a breeze. Cigar has been stored at 70% rh for the past several days.
Prelight:
Appearance: Well shaped robusto. Med-dark brown wrapper with some mottling, a few medium veins running the length of the cigar. Looks a little rough to me.
Feel: Extremely firm (almost hard) overall. A touch softer at the head and foot, a spot about an inch down from the head that is pretty hard.
Wrapper scent: Very faint - bitter cocoa?
Scent @ foot: Hay, not sweet but pungent (ammonia?)
Prep: V-cut dead center, a little resistance like it was still green.
Tongue: no tingle, musty/earthy like peat
Flavor on draw: Barnyard and a little wood. Draw was a little tight.
Smoke:
Light: Toasted the foot evenly. Black smoke trailing the flame on the final light. There was a very nasty taste on the first few draws, so I set it down for a few minutes while I debated whether or not to toss this one and fire up the other stick. The nastiness went away in a few minutes so something funky was on the foot.
First third - Ash looks good; medium gray and moderately compact. Draw is a little tight, but not overly so. Adequate amount of smoke, if the draw was looser there would be a lot of smoke. Burn line is clean with a medium mascara line. Body is medium to full. Ash hung on for about 3/4" before dropping and it looks like the cigar is burning evenly (filler, binder, wrapper). I taste pepper - not the cracked black, but more of a white pepper. Maybe a hint of woodiness that is overwhelmed by your basic tobacco taste.
Second third - Faint hints of bitter cocoa wafts in and out. Just when you think it might
develop, it goes away. Otherwise the flavor is about the same. Settled into a basic medium bodied smoke now. Ash is still great, as it the burn. I haven't had to touch this one up at all. Even when I set it down and walk away for a few minutes, it is still burning fine when I come back - a trait for which the RP's are notable.
Final third - Still medium body/strength. The hint of bitter cocoa still seems to come and go. Moderately long finish - a little sour on back sides of the tongue. Ash remains the same medium grey and fairly solid, drops after about 3/4". Burn line remains even and hasn't required fixing. Mascara line is considerably thicker than at the beginning. The rest of the cigar softened up a bit, but there is still a very firm spot about an inch down from the head. Draw is getting a bit tighter. Put it down with about 1.5" remaining and it was still cool to the touch.
Not an outstanding smoke - a little spicy, but bitter and not complex. Doesn't have that rich chocolate/cocoa, espresso, leather, cracked black pepper, or molasses that I personally look for in a cigar. Not a cigar I would recommend.
Overall, I would give this a rating of 5 - not feeling the need to nub.
Webmeister scale:
X 1 - Not bad, but not memorable
2 - Maybe, but I'd like to try another stick
3 - Pretty darn good - I think I'll buy a fiver
4 - This is a keeper - gimme a box for bombing!
5 - A great stick - Buying a box to keep for myself!
On the "official" scale, I am going to give this a 5 overall.
6 for construction
6 for draw, ash, and volume of smoke
4 for taste and complexity

The scent of the wrapper on this cigar was of a wet grass nature. The scent at the foot was a sweet maduro-steak flavor that was very pleasant. This cigar had a hard feel to it and didn't havem uch of a "give." Upon placing my tongue on the newly cut end, I noticed a very spicy-zesty flavor that jumped and bit me on the tongue. The flavor on the draw was like field grass or freshly cut grass on a summer day.
This was a complex cigar that changed up quite a bit during the smoking experience. Initial light up started out with a burnt nuts and anis flavor, that slowly evolved into a woodsy-cedar flavor at the end of the first third of the cigar. The middle portion of the cigar saw the flavor changing once again into a creamy-chocolate flavor that lasted all the way to the end. These flavors were very pleasant and it definitely wasn't a cigar that I got bored smoking.
This cigar left a slight peppery flavor on the back of my tongue and the after taste was of a pleasant woodsy variety that was great to sense. The lone drawback on this cigar was the draw. I had to utilize the second stick of this version as the first one was hopelessly plugged. The second stick was slightly better, but still had construction issues in that regard. This drawback was an issue throughout the smoking experience and took away from the positives of flavor.

Pre-Smoke
Scent of Wrapper: Very heavy tobacco smell
Scent at Foot: Similar but with a hint of sweetness
Wrapper: Very rough looking cigar - dark brown - couple large veins - very clear seam - double cap
Feel: Kind of spongy - seems to be a fairly loose fill
Tongue: Immediate impact but not the usual tingle
Flavor on Draw: Common tobacco taste
Smoke
Taste: Very Hearty - little bit of a kick in the mid mouth - mellowed out after the 1/2 inch mark - little bit of spice
Strength: Full
Feeling : Easy to smoke - easy draw
Smoke: Decent amount of smoke in mouth - nice bluish smoke from the foot
Heat: None detected
Draw: Very Loose (Second smoke was very tight)
Finish: Fairly long finish
Other: Tough light - possible lighter issue - Did die/tunnel about halfway through
Overall: Got a woozy feeling after smoking this one... pretty intense. Had some tunneling issues as well as a split wrapper on the second smoke.
Rated 6 out of 10 on the ICRS.

Draw and Burn

Cons:

No Flavor

This was a rocket in my eyes.....not even worthly of a yard-stick.
If I were guess, this stick had possibly a corojo wrapper and it barely gave any flavor.
There was nothing else happening with this stick....basically just tasted bland tobacco. Nothing stood out.
Only pros was the burn and draw. The overall look of the cigar was veiny and rustic.
Would not recommend!
