Pros:
|
Nice construction
|
|
Cons:
|
Needs Aging / Not up to snuff
|
|
Prelight:
Appearance: Light creamy brown wrapper / Heavily veined.
Scent @ foot: Detected nothing
Tongue: No Tingle / Closed to nothing
Flavor on draw: Heavy Grass tast
Smoke:
First third - Heavy grass taste / almost didn't want to continue smoking
Second third - More of the same heavy grassy taste.
Final third - Heavy finish of grass flavor, many times I wanted to put this stick down but thought I finish it just for the review.
Finish: Heavy finish with a lingering aftertaste.
Overall, This cigar could use some age since it starts grassy and just by the smell you wouldn't light it up.

Looks nice, nice construction

Cons:

veiny, not much to it.

Pre-Smoke
Scent of Wrapper: field grass, slight barnyard smell
Scent at Foot: hay
Wrapper: light creamy brown, profuse amount of veins throughout lengths
Feel: firm thru most of the length but the foot was spongy
Tongue: nothing detectable
Flavor on Draw: grass and hay
Smoke
Taste: 1st third: grassy taste with a slight acrid taste.
2nd third: Strong fresh grass taste just not liking it.
3rd third: did not get that far, I gave up on it as the taste was not to my liking.
Strength: medium strength did not vary thru the amount I smoked it too.
Scent of smoke: grass and heavy developing into a stronger grass and hay smell.
Heat on Fingers and in mouth: could feel the warmth along the length.
Draw: had a stronger resistance, had to really drag on it to get a draw. Too resistant for my liking.
Finish: long finish very grassy, left a long aftertaste.
Other aspects of the Cigar Smoking
Experience: Not very enjoyable, I was concentrating on the fact the grassy taste made it an unpleasant smoke for me.
If this cigar were to age for a long period it might tone down and mellow out a bit. I do not like grassy tastes in my cigars and this was just too grassy, the fight to get a detectable amount of smoke and the grass taste was detrimental to my giving up on this smoke early. I would not at this time recommend this cigar to anyone.
I hope this did not coast a lot as I feel this one was rushed out before it was truly ready for prime time.
I was generous in giving it a 4.

Pros:

well made
|
|
Cons:
|
sour, acrid taste.
|
|
Construction: Well made. Nice wrapper. Great feel.
Scent of wrapper: Hay or grass
Taste at head: Mild. Nothing really stood out.
Draw: Was excellent. I had no problems at all.
Burn: Clean, straight, no issues.
Smoking experience: This cigar started out very mild, but very quickly took on a sour taste with grass or mild tobacco flavor thrown in. About halfway through the cigar I began to pick up notes of bittersweet chocolate, but the acrid taste did not go away. It left a burn on the tongue, not like a peppery cigar would, but more like the feeling you get when you bite into an orange peel.
Overall: This cigar is made well, draws well, burns well... I mean everthing was what one would expect from an excellent cigar... except the taste. I did not like the flavor of the cigar. It is too bad because this stick has so much potential if the blend were just better.

tight ash, flavor,

Cons:

Draw
|

Upon taking the cigar out of the wrapper, I quickly noticed that this cigar had a brittle feel to it. Appearance wise, it was of a consistent medium-dark brown and had a smooth feel to it. It felt hard towards the head of the cigar, with more "give" at the foot. The scent of the wrapper was of a creamy, chocolate nature. There was a slight spicyness to it when I put my tongue on the end of it. The flavor on the draw was a bit unusual from what I have experienced. I would liken it to butterscotch.
This cigar had a wide variety of flavors that I picked up right off the bat. Upon the initial light up, I experienced a heavy dose of pepper that left a strong ensation on the middle of my tongue. It also had a strong tea like flavor with notes of toast that lasted during the entire smoking duration. The draw on the cigar was a bit too tight, it could've been better in this regard. The finish on this cigar was a good treat as well. It left a zesty pine-wood aftertaste.

Taste, little smoke, and some bite

Cigar: Blind #136
Environment: About 3:00pm, upper 70's, with a bit of a breeze. Cigar has been stored at 70% rh for the past couple of weeks.
Prelight:
Appearance: Well shaped robusto. Light-to-medium brown wrapper with a few medium veins running the length of the cigar.
Feel: Firm overall with one hard spot about where the band would be.
Wrapper scent: Hay, grass
Scent @ foot: Hay, a little barnyard (fainter than the wrapper smell)
Prep: V-cut dead center
Tongue: no tingle
Flavor on draw: Not much flavor at all. Draw was just fine.
Smoke:
Light: Toasted the foot evenly. Light gray smoke. Very mild non-descript tobacco taste initially.
First third - By the third puff, I tasted dirt, faint spice, and a little sour. Finish is like a mouth full of dirt, and it hangs on for a while. Ash looks good; light gray and pretty solid. Draw is fine, but does not produce much smoke. Burn line is good, mascara line is thin and black. Body is mild. Ash dropped at about 1.25" and that's when the tea flavor kicked in. Anyone who's read one of my reviews knows I do not like tea in my cigars.
Second third - Tea and a sour taste that doesn't go away - much more pronounced now. Still mild body, with a less-than optimal amount of smoke. Ash is still good as is the burn. Finish is still dirt and more sour than before. A little bite on the back sides of my tongue.
Final third - Still mild body, light on the smoke, good ash and burn line. More sour, less tea, and more dirt. I'm giving up on this one with 1.5" left.
Did not care for this cigar at all. Not a cigar I would recommend.
Webmeister scale:
X 0 - Really did not like this one.
1 - Not bad, but not memorable
2 - Maybe, but I'd like to try another stick
3 - Pretty darn good - I think I'll buy a fiver
4 - This is a keeper - gimme a box for bombing!
5 - A great stick - Buying a box to keep for myself!
On the "official" scale, I am going to be generous when I give this a 4 overall.
6 for construction
4 for draw, ash, and volume of smoke
1 for taste and complexity

Pros:
|
Construction; burn
|
|
Cons:
|
The flavor was mild to a fault (bordering on bland)
|
|
PreSmoke
Scent of Wrapper: A “bright” leathery scent.
Scent at Foot: Very subdued; leather again perhaps
Appearance/Wrapper: Nice natural wrapper – no defects noted. Rolling was very good, with no voids or dense spots detected. Cap was placed and smoothed perfectly.
Feel: Sturdy but not overly stiff; solid with no voids
Tongue: No bite or spice at all in comparison to other cigars
Flavor on Draw: Continued leather theme…
Smoke
Taste/Flavor: Very little spice; pleasant through the nose. Slightly astringent and occasionally even a citrus note. The flavor is not over the top in any respect. There was an occasional sweetness. This would make a good introductory cigar for a beginner, or even a “comfort” cigar for everyday.
Strength: Well on the milder side of medium
Heat on fingers/mouth: Average for heat output, but the evenness of the burn was outstanding. It was a slow burning cigar relative to what I’d call average.
Draw: Slightly tight, but well within the “normal” range
Finish: Mild and pleasant; oak-like.

Decent Mild smoke
|
|
Cons:
|
Nothing really sets it apart from anything else
|

Pre-Smoke
Scent of Wrapper: Sweet tobacco smell
Scent at Foot: "greener" smell
Wrapper: Light caramel brown color - couple smaller veins
Feel: Little bit of give from top to bottom
Tongue: Almost no tingle
Flavor on draw: Nothing distinguishible
Smoke
Taste: Nice mild flavor - little tingle on the front of the tongue - picked up some taste I could not identify about 1/2 way through
Strength: Mild
Feeling: Very easy, mild smoke
Smoke: Good amount of smoke into the mouth
Heat: Nothing picked up
Draw: Easy
Finish: Smooth
Other: Windy night had to enjoy it fully. Easy to light.
Overall: A decent mild cigar but nothing that stands apart from the rest of the mild cigars out there.
Rated 7 out of 10 on the ICRS.
