Brand: San Cristobal de la Habana
MSRP: $4.50
Size: El Principe
Box date : Nov 2001
Drink Choice: Water
Time of smoke: Afternoon
Cut Choice: Xikar
Pre-Light thoughts: Beautiful wrapper and great triple cap. A few in the box have the rare, Quad cap. The draw is great, cut well. Great cocoa and cedar flavors.
The Light: Lit very well, put out a lot of neon blue smoke, and a scent to kill for.
The Draw: This cigars has a perfect draw. It seems a lot of the early 2000 habanos are having good draw.
First third: Very medium bodied, great smooth flavor. A lot of dry cedar notes, hints of cocoa.
Second third: Picking up in strength, very nice burn and draw still great. Earthy notes starting to come into the mix
Final third: Every thing is becoming fluid, all the flavors are working together and it is really turning into a great stick.
Final note: Wonderful cigar, can’t wait to see how these are in a few more years. These should be hitting their prime around 2010. IMO.
Overall: 8.5 / 10
